For some people, once Spring hits, they're itching to spring-clean and freshen things up around their homes. For a lot of people, spring cleaning can feel very overwhelming. The thought of going through stacks of papers, closets of unworn clothing, boxes and totes of other stored items can be daunting. Mostly because you may feel like the process will take forever to accomplish: deciding what to keep and what to get rid of. Frankly, it's the last thing you want to do because there are other "fun" things you'd rather be doing, but you can't avoid it much longer.
Maybe a little motivation, a checklist, and ways to put tech to work are just the things will that kick-start you and get you revved up, ready to clean.

Music is a good motivator that's not just for fitness. Music can boost your mood for any activity your doing, cleaning included. And, if you can believe it, you can find playlists specially curated just for housework. Find "cleaning" playlists on the music apps, like iHeartRadio, iTunes, Spotify. It'll get you pumped up and ready to clean. To find them, go to the magnifying glass icon in the music app and type in "cleaning" or "housework" in the search field and they'll appear.
Another way to access music motivation by using your smart TV and going to YouTube to play your favorite artist or genre of music. Have a smart speaker? Ask Google or Alexa to... "play some cleaning music" for whole house experience. The surround sound of up-beat music will have you moving, grooving, and cleaning, no matter what room you're in!

Family or friends helping out can be good motivation to get some spring cleaning done. Having another set of hands can make the job easier, the time go fast, and the work seem fun. Mobility changes as we age and there is no shame in asking for assistance from others in completing some tasks. And, some people love to clean. Give them a chance to do something they enjoy! A thank you to them could simply be offering them lunch. Another way find some helping hands is to contact a leader of a youth group in your area. They are often looking for ways to volunteer their time or opportunities to raise a little money. Throwing a "cleaning party" can be great motivation, whether it's a party of 2, or a whole crew!
